Here are two great books I discovered. They take you through individual shots and show an example of a film that uses that technique. Great to look at when building a shot list. I wouldn't derive all your shots from these books becuase that's where you're creativity comes in, however, they are defiantly a place to get started. I currently have two films in pre-production. Both are adaptations of differnt authors works. The first is 1-800-Suicide written by Michael Lamio. The second is Cain Rose Up written by Stephen King.
